Remote Control Musical Monitor Color Digital Video SystemRemote Control Musical Monitor Color Digital Video System. : Meh…
These baby safety monitors are fun and good looking, that is no doubt about it… Probably one of the coolest looking monitor for baby. However, although very cute, the Remote Control Musical Monitor has certainly not won the heart of the parents who tested it. Fisher Price safety monitor includes a remote musical control musical monitor that will help you soothe your baby, and with a click from the parental unit, you will be able to remotely activate the musical system without even going into the nursery! The baby monitor includes a digital technology supposed to help reduce interference, a sound lights, a 2.4-inch LCD screen and night vision to see baby at any time of the night that lets you see baby anytime. However, this monitor has one big flaw, it does not hold the charge. While it makes a remarkable audio and video monitor, the battery does last and you may need to keep it plugged in at all time. Considering the high cost of the monitor, many parents find this problem quite disappointing.

Sounds 'n Lights Monitor with dual receiversSounds ‘n Lights Monitor with dual receivers. More disappointment. Pro: more than affordable! Cons: many parents have found themselves unable to use this product due to static interference. This baby safety monitor from Fisher Price was nicely designed for you to hear baby at all time of the day, or night and includes two receivers, for more convenience, so you and your hubby can monitor baby from different parts of the house, and this, up to 400 feet for a crystal clear connection! And if you are planning on doing some vacuuming, the sound-activated light on both sides of each receiver will allow you to know when baby needs assistance, even when you can’t hear the parental unit! A built-in nightlight on the nursery unit will help you have a better look at baby when you’re peeking into the nursery. A great product, when it works…

Private Connection™ Monitor with dual receiversPrivate Connection™ Monitor with dual receivers. Okay product, amazing customer service. These Fisher Price baby monitors have 10 channels, which will help reduce the chance that someone else in the neighborhood picks up your transmission. Similarly to the Sounds ‘n Lights, this baby safety monitor from Fisher Price features sound lights on both sides of the parental unit, so you can see baby’s activity even in noisy areas. The 900 MHz technology will give you a great range for a crystal-clear connection, and this, up to 800 feet! Some parents have found some batteries issues, but overall, parents are happy with the product, and like always, Fisher Price customer service does not disappoint.

A baby safety monitor to monitor their sleep

Sunday, 21. June 2009 14:10

You can’t just help it : your little one is doing great but you can’t just get used to leaving baby by himself when he is sleeping. To check up on your little, one, you should perhaps think about using a baby safety monitor. These small devices are very efficient which often very affordable prices and very cool designs.

Baby safety monitors consist in a transmitter and a receiver. Those “baby phones” allow you to listen to what is happening in your child’s room when you are in another room. Using radio waves, the parents’ device receives sounds transmitted from the baby’s bedroom. Hence, you can keep an eye on your little one from the other end of the house without disturbing his sleep!

Listen to baby. Where should you install the devices.
One device, the transmitter has to be installed in baby’s room, out of baby’s reach for security reasons. Place it near baby, preferably a little bit higher and never in baby’s bed. Most baby safety monitors run on batteries, rechargeable batteries or AC power. During day time, the first two types are more convenient to bring along with you when you need to walk around in the house. Ideally, the parents’ receiver comes with clip that allows it to be attached to the belt, so you can remotely monitor baby whether you’re in the house or on the patio.

Choosing baby safety monitors
The length of reach of baby safety monitors is important: it is usually between 50 to 400 m or 165ft to 1300ft, depending on model and where you are. Remember that it work at its best in open spaces and that obstacles will decrease the reaching distance. The number and the composition of the walls separating the rooms can also limit the range of reach. The waves more easily travel through stone than through concrete! Remember that the information provided by the manufacturer on the box usually refers to an open space…

Baby safety monitors should be user friendly. Remember to check the readability of the information that shows up on the screen if there is one. The ability to adjust the volume is also an important element.

The most inexpensive baby safety monitors have between two and four channels, the more expensive ones, up to 64. Of course, the more there are, the less interference you will get from your neighbors. If you live in a big house, favor baby phones that have a lot of channels.

More options

Some devices have a control function of the scope, in this case a bi-directional digital control (DECT) verifies that the units permanently parents and baby are in the same area and working properly. The transmitter send every two or three seconds a signal received by the parents’ module. But do not worry: this function can be disabled!

A little lamp can be integrated the transmitter of the baby safety monitor, and can often be remotely controlled and most of the time, remotely turning on the lamp will be enough to calm your crying baby. Some devices even include a lullaby, which will bring baby to sleep in just a few notes!

Models that have a screen on the receiver can display the temperature, if you need to keep an eye on this parameter.

More and more baby safety monitors are equipped with a walkie-talkie, to reassure the child by speaking to him through the monitor. Some baby safety monitors have a remote camera system, where baby can be filmed when he sleeps through the night vision. Called “babycam”, these models are composed of a camera, connected through wireless to a portable monitor screen. Parents can watch their baby sleeping, while doing other activities: cooking, housekeeping, watching tv… In addition, when connected to a computer or other devices, it is even possible to keep a picture or video of baby.

It is important as a parents not to wake your child up every time they sound a little bit agitated, and usign a baby safety monitor can be extremely reassuring for young parents.

Baby safety monitors : four tips

Wednesday, 6. May 2009 2:05

First time parents or not, the use of a baby safety monitor can relieve parents of many stress involved with leaving baby in a different room. Baby safety monitors are usually listening devices used to hear what is going on in baby’s room. With today’s technology, many models now come with video capabilities. Therefore the use of baby safety monitors will ease your journey as a parent by giving you an “extra pair of ears” or an extra “pair of eyes” to check on your little one.

With all the brands on the market, finding the right baby safety monitor can be difficult. Many parents also hesitate between going audio or video. Here are a few tips to choosing the best baby safety monitor.

First, when shopping for a baby safety monitor, you should remain in your comfort zone. Choose a device that is easy to use. Purchase a user-friendly gadget, to avoid making mistakes when setting up your monitor. Remember, a baby safety monitor badly set is like no safety monitor at all.

Second, choose a light device, that comes with a carry-on belt on necklace, so you can keep an eye or ear on baby anywhere from the house.

Third, going video or audio? Look into your budget. Baby audio monitors are usually much cheaper than baby video monitors, and do the job just as well. However, some parents are more comfortable viewing their baby. Those parents might want to consider baby video monitors. Also, some monitors also come with a handy movement sensor you can install in the crib.

Fourth, test your new monitor right away. Find out if the video or the audio is working properly. Can you hear your baby well when there is a little bit of noise around you (not vacuum). Is there any interference? Is there a low battery alert? Is it easy to move the receptor around with you in the house?

When purchasing a baby safety monitor, it is important to not go for the price only. Your monitor will help you monitor your baby’s health and take off some worries off your shoulders. Baby monitors can cost anywhere between 30$-200$, depending of all the features you are looking into.

Keep you children safe with baby safety monitors.
